Roxie Garza, LCSW, EMDR Trained

(He/They)

Therapy for adults ready to heal trauma, build confidence, and deepen self-understanding.

I work with adults roughly ages 25 through the mid-40s, many of whom identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I support individuals who want to better understand their emotional world, explore how trauma shows up in the present, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others.

Specialities:

  • Chronic people pleasing
  • Complex trauma
  • EMDR
  • Gender identity
  • Anxious attachment

What To Expect

My style is playful, collaborative, motivating, and accountability-focused. Clients often tell me, “I feel so much better now that I’ve talked about it.” I lead with validation—your feelings matter—and I’ll also invite reflection around patterns and personal responsibility when it supports growth. I believe therapy works best when we’re honest, engaged, and working together.

Sessions usually begin with a check-in about your week and any themes or goals you want to revisit. We may pick up where we left off or focus on something new that feels important in the moment. I’ll ask questions, offer insight, and keep your larger goals in mind as we explore emotions, patterns, and relationships. The first session includes an introduction to the therapy process, confidentiality, and policies, along with time to learn about your history and what you’re hoping to work on. When helpful, I may suggest between-session practices such as journaling, communication exercises, or worksheets tailored to your focus.

We Might Be a Fit If You Feel…

  • Ready to work on emotional processing and regulation
  • Curious about how past trauma is impacting your life today
  • Wanting to move away from chronic people-pleasing and toward more self-trust

A Little About Me

I believe healing is an ongoing process—change doesn’t stop, and that gives us continual opportunities to learn about ourselves. My work draws from EMDR to help process trauma so it has less impact on daily life, and a strengths-based approach that identifies and builds on the resilience you already carry. I’m EMDR-trained and Gottman Level 1 trained, and I specialize in working with trauma, anxious attachment, people-pleasing, and gender identity exploration.

I became a therapist because I’m committed to walking alongside people in long-term self-discovery and healing—not just for a moment, but for the journey. Outside of work, I’m exploring my love of cooking (farmers’ markets included), enjoy scrapbooking and crafting, and never say no to a sweet treat. If you’re looking for an affirming, collaborative space to heal and grow, I’d love to work with you.

I may not be the best fit for clients under 22 or those seeking support for eating disorders or body image concerns.

If you’re ready to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and build relationships and boundaries that feel more sustainable, I’d be glad to work with you.
