Meghan Jones, LCSW, ADHD-CCSP

(She/Her)

Therapy for young adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, relationships, life transitions, and the pressure to make the “right” choices.

You may look like you’re managing everything pretty well from the outside while internally wondering, “Why does everyone else seem to have this figured out?”

I especially enjoy working with people who are moving through the uncertainty that often comes with your 20s—finishing school, beginning a career, navigating changing relationships, taking on new responsibilities, or trying to figure out what you actually want your life to look like.

Specialties:

  • Anxiety, overthinking, and perfectionism
  • ADHD and executive functioning
  • People-pleasing and boundaries
  • Relationships and major life decisions
  • Workplace stress

What To Expect

My style is warm, relaxed, friendly, and collaborative. One client once described a session with me as feeling like “a big hug,” which captures what I hope therapy can feel like: a place where you feel genuinely cared about, listened to, and able to be yourself without judgment.

Sessions with me are generally open-ended and client-led. We may start with a little small talk or catch up on what happened during your week, and then I’ll usually ask what feels most important or meaningful for us to talk about that day. I’ll help keep us connected to your goals, but I don’t believe therapy needs to follow a rigid agenda. This is your time, and I want you to have a voice in how we use it.

Depending on what you need, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. In everyday terms, that may mean helping you recognize an unhelpful thought before it spirals, make room for uncomfortable emotions instead of fighting them, clarify what matters most to you, or work through a decision without someone else telling you what you “should” do.

We Might Be a Fit If You Feel…

  •  “I try so hard, but I never feel like I’m doing enough.”
  • “I have a hard time trusting myself to make the ‘right choice.’”
  • “I always feel behind.”
  • “I struggle to manage my stress and anxiety”

A Little About Me

I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to be struggling and need support—and how difficult it can feel to actually reach out for it. I wanted the opportunity to offer others the same kind of compassion, kindness, and nonjudgmental space that once made a difference for me.

Outside of work, I love writing and reading, although my constantly growing to-be-read list is winning at the moment. Romantasy is my favorite genre, but I can usually be persuaded to try something new.

I also have an emotional support dog named Trooper, who earned his name because he turned out to be so anxious himself that he’s basically a trooper for making it through the day. At this point, I’m not entirely sure which one of us is providing the emotional support.
