Jada Williams, LCPC

(She/Her)

Therapy for teens, adults, and couples work through self-doubt, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the patterns that keep them feeling stuck.

You may know exactly what you want to change and still find yourself getting in your own way. I work with late teens, emerging adults, adults, and couples navigating a variety of life experiences, relationships, cultural backgrounds, and identities.

I also work with couples and have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an approach that helps partners strengthen emotional connection, safety, and attachment within their relationship.

What To Expect

My style is playful, easy-going, and direct. In fact, some of my virtual clients have told me sessions feel a little like a FaceTime call — relaxed and conversational, but still meaningful.

I tend to keep sessions open-ended because I want you to have a real say in where we go. We may start by catching up on what has happened since we last met, then follow whatever feels most important that day. Sometimes that means processing something happening right now; other times, we may notice that a familiar pattern has shown up again and decide to explore it more deeply.

I believe you can feel validated and challenged in therapy. I often think of it as the “Oreo” approach: first we acknowledge that your feelings and experiences make sense, then we look honestly at what may need to change, and finally we recognize the effort it takes to grow from it. Depending on our relationship and what you need in the moment, I may sometimes be more direct — but never for the sake of being harsh.

In our first session, you can expect a calm and curious conversation about what brings you to therapy, your history, the important people and supports in your life, and what you would like to work toward. We’ll collaborate on goals, and I usually like to end with a few lighter questions too — what you’re watching, listening to, or enjoying lately — because getting to know you as a whole person matters to me.

We Might Be a Fit If You Feel…

  • “I’m standing in my own way,”
  • “I worry people see me as negatively as I see myself,”
  • “I keep trying to control things that are completely outside of my control.”
  • “I want to really understand my own identity and place in the world.”

A Little About Me

I became a therapist because I believe connection is one of the best parts of being human. Helping people feel seen and valued while supporting them in making intentional, meaningful changes feels deeply connected to who I am.

Outside of therapy, I love making playlists and genuinely believe I have one for just about every mood. I also love thrifting and vintage shopping around the city, and I have an orange cat named Pancakes.

A few things I regularly recommend: get outside in the sun whenever Chicago decides to give us some, do one small enjoyable thing for yourself every day, and try progressive muscle relaxation before bed when you need help winding down.
