Vanessa Lambrecht, LPC

(She/Her)

Therapy for neurodivergent teens and adults navigating overwhelm, emotions, and relationships.

I work with teens, emerging adults, and adults who are neurodivergent (ADHD, ASD, AuDHD), late-diagnosed, or highly sensitive, and who feel overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or disconnected from themselves. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling like they’ve held a mask to the world all their life. Therapy with me offers a safe space to let down your mask. I often walk beside clients who are learning to release stifled emotions, pent up social anxiety and often a long history of feeling misunderstood.

Specialties:

  • ADHD, ASD, and AuDHD (including late diagnosis and identity shifts)
  • Anxiety and social anxiety
  • Perfectionism, burnout, and chronic overwhelm
  • Depression
  • High-conflict relationships and anger management

What To Expect

My style is warm, affirming, collaborative, curious, and grounding. Clients often share that sessions feel like being truly understood without judgment—even when talking about difficult emotions. I validate emotional experiences first, then work with you to build awareness, boundaries, and skills that support responding thoughtfully rather than reacting, especially in high-conflict situations.

Sessions are conversational and supportive. We’ll explore what’s been coming up for you—particularly around stress, conflict, emotional intensity, or burnout—and connect those experiences to nervous system responses, unmet needs, and communication patterns. I offer tools, reflections, and psychoeducation to help you feel more regulated and confident in how you navigate relationships and daily life. When helpful, I may suggest between-session practices such as emotional regulation tools, reflective journaling, boundary or communication experiments, or noticing early signs of escalation—always collaboratively.

We Might Be a Fit If You Feel…

  • “I look like I’m functioning, but inside I feel exhausted and overwhelmed.”
  • “My emotions—especially anger—feel intense and hard to manage in close relationships.”
  • “I was diagnosed later in life and I’m trying to understand myself with more clarity and compassion.”

I believe lasting change happens when people feel deeply understood, learn how to meet their needs, and gain tools that align with who they are. My work is grounded in client-centered, strengths-based, and neurodiversity-affirming therapy, with a focus on helping clients turn intense emotions into useful information rather than sources of shame or conflict. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University, practice from a neurodiversity-affirming lens, and am currently pursuing ADHD Clinical Services Provider Certification (ADHD-CCSP).

I became a therapist out of a deep understanding of what it feels like to be different, uncertain, or unsupported—and a commitment to helping others feel less alone and more empowered. Outside of work, I love seeking out new experiences through food, art, and meaningful conversation, and I’m known for my curiosity, kindness, and genuine nature. If you’re looking for an affirming space to understand your emotions, relationships, and neurodivergent identity with compassion, I’d be glad to work with you.

I may not be the best fit for clients seeking highly rigid or directive therapy, or those needing higher levels of care.

If you’re ready to understand the wonder of your neurodivergent mind, build tools that truly fit you, and feel more confident in how you navigate your emotions and relationships, I’d be glad to work with you.
