*More About Kheri*
Having been on the other side of therapy, I want to highlight your strength and courage in taking this next step; sometimes seeking help is half the battle. Life poses many challenges, and you should never feel you must grin and bear it or figure things out on your own. It would be an honor to assist you as you work towards living your best possible life.
*What To Expect From Our Work Together*
Many people unknowingly already possess the tools to aid in reaching their potential, they just need help with that extra push to bring their best to the surface – that is where I come in. In working with me, I will help you claim your best self by identifying your strengths while also adding to your mental health toolkit. I hope you are comforted knowing it will be a collaborative effort and that the expertise you have in your own life will be valued at all stages of the process.
I am a strong supporter of intersectionality, which means I believe all layers of a person's identity should be considered and tended to. We will celebrate the wins as we move forward, but I will also challenge you, offer a source of accountability, and help keep you centered with the task at hand. I cannot promise that it will be easy, or even immediate, but I can guarantee the seeds we plant together today will have a fruitful impact on the growth you see across many tomorrows.
*What You Need to Know About Me*
One of the quickest ways to get me on my soap box is to bring up work-life balance - we all need it! I try to practice what I preach by tapping into my creative side through sketching. I also like board games, card games, video games, team games, puzzles (did I mention how much I love games?). I enjoy all things horror, so “spooky season” is a year-round affair for me. I also try to embody this notion of balance professionally through my use of sarcasm, humor, and seriousness, pulling from each appropriately during therapy sessions as we see fit.
I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. I am a graduate of the Master’s in Counseling program at DePaul University, specializing in Clinical Mental Health. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Vanderbilt University.
