Therapy for adults, couples, and parents navigating change, loss, and looking for deeper connection

I work with adults, couples, and parents who are moving through difficult life transitions and adjusting to a new normal. Many of the people I support are navigating grief, trauma, mood concerns, or relationship stress—and want space to process what they’ve been through while also finding meaning, strength, and a path forward.

Specialities:

  • Relationship Challenges, including communication, intimacy and infidelity
  • Grief and Loss
  • Chronic Illness
  • Mid-life Challenges and Empty Nesting
  • Chronic Stress and work/Life Balance

What To Expect

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity—with room for humor and gentle challenge. Clients often share that they feel genuinely supported and cared for, which allows them to open up about difficult emotions and experiences. I balance validation with thoughtful challenges, helping clients gain insight while staying aligned with their goals.

Sessions often begin with a grounding exercise to help you settle in. From there, we explore what’s come up recently and what feels most important to focus on. My style is flexible—sometimes open-ended, sometimes more guided—depending on your needs and comfort level. I often use reflective, curiosity-based questions to help uncover the root of struggles rather than just addressing surface symptoms.

The first session (or two) is intentionally spacious. We’ll focus on understanding your story, relationships, and the factors that brought you to therapy, moving at a pace that feels right for you. When helpful, I may offer between-session practices or tools—such as behavioral activation or communication exercises—to support long-term change.

I draw from psychodynamic therapy to explore both present concerns and their deeper origins. In couples work, I integrate Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help partners improve communication, understand emotional needs, and build more secure connections. In grief and trauma work, I use a dual-process model that supports both honoring loss and rebuilding life in meaningful ways.

We Might Be A Good Fit If You Feel..

  • “I’m trying to rebuild after a loss or a major life change.”

  • “I feel stuck in patterns tied to anxiety, perfectionism, or control.”

  • “Our relationship needs better communication and deeper understanding.”

A Little About Me

I became a therapist through deeply personal experiences with loss, grief, and long-term relationships—including volunteering with No One Dies Alone and losing my brother to suicide. These experiences shaped my capacity to hold space for pain with compassion and steadiness. I’ve been married for over 30 years and value helping people build healthier relationships with themselves and others.

Outside the therapy room, I’m married with three adult children and two grandchildren, love spending time in nature, and find joy in forest preserve walks, meaningful conversations, and a full Saturday of college football.

If you’re looking for a space to process, heal, and grow—at your own pace—I’d be honored to support you.
