Josh Jude, LPC, NCC

(He/Him)

Therapy for LGBTQIA+ adults and couples seeking clarity, connection, and relief from self-criticism.

Do anxieties, personal challenges, or painful past experiences keep you from discovering or expressing your authentic self? If you think you want to collaborate and dig in to overcome those blocks, I’m your person. I mostly work with LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples to work through trauma histories, attachment struggles, and life transitions.

Specialties:

  • OCD and intrusive thoughts
  • Anxiety and overthinking
  • Life transitions and decision points
  • Identity exploration and development

What to Expect

We heal through relationships, including the one we create in the therapeutic space. My goal is to create a safe space where you can identify and explore relational patterns you keep getting stuck in out in the real world. Even though we’ll be doing some heavy lifting, I want our sessions to be something you can look forward to. You can expect sessions to feel supportive, interactive, and driven by your goals. I hope you walk away from our time together with a clearer sense of direction and a fuller understanding of what’s getting in your way.

Our first session will focus on intake, rapport, and establishing goals for lasting change. As a queer, queer-competent, and kink-affirming clinician, I believe the best version of you is the most authentic version of you. Let’s figure it out together.

We Might Be a Fit If You Feel…

  • “My anxiety and self-criticism hold me back from being my real self.”
  • “Thoughts about my past prevent me from experiencing deeper relationships.”
  • “I feel overwhelmed and see no end in sight.”

A Little About Me

In addition to my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University, I have a master’s in rhetoric and composition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I love my work because I believe everyone is the hero of their own story and everyone’s story matters. Outside of work, you can find me fighting for my life in a group fitness class, zoning out to nineties alternative, or buying books faster than I could possibly ever read them.

I may not be the best fit for individuals experiencing acute crisis, psychosis, or eating disorders.

If you’re looking for an affirming space with someone in your corner where you can explore identity, attachment, and relationship patterns, I’d be happy to get started collaboratively working toward your goals.
