*More About Mary Lauren*
Having overcome tremendous adversity in my own life, I recognize the importance of helping others navigate and overcome theirs, especially during such an uncertain time. I am both a provider and a client of therapy, which allows me to better understand the individuals I work with.
In our daily lives, it can often feel like we are being pulled in a million different directions. I want therapy to provide a space where you can be completely and authentically yourself, without judgment, expectations, or pressure. I truly love helping people create change in their own lives and feel lucky to have the front row seat when they do.
*What To Expect From Our Work Together*
While I typically use goal oriented and mindfulness-based approaches, I recognize that treatment is never one size fits all. We will work together to find the techniques and treatment approaches that work best for you and help you to see the most positive change. When we work together as a team, you will be successful in achieving your goals.
*What You Need To Know About Me*
My empathic nature allows me to make genuine connections with my clients in a time where human connection is hard to come by. I am a person first and a therapist second, and I understand the difficulties that come with this “new normal,” especially for those managing a mental illness. So come as you are, wherever you are, and let’s work through it together.
I have a Bachelors in Psychology from The University of Colorado and my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. I have a particular interest in helping those dealing with trauma and PTSD. In my spare time, I love to binge a good Netflix show and play with my sweet lab Bear.
